Adult Basic Education

Intermediate Unit 1 supports 26 adult basic and literacy education classes throughout the tri-county area serving nearly 800 adults each year. In addition, over 300 adults are given the opportunity to earn the General Education Development (GED) diploma through the Intermediate Unit 1 GED Testing Centers.

The Intermediate Unit 1 Adult Basic Education Program is operated through funding by the Bureau of Adult Basic and Literacy Education (ABLE) at the Pennsylvania Department of Education. For more information on the ABLE Bureau, visit their website at http://www.able.state.pa.us.
