GED Test Centers and Testing Dates
The General Educational Development (GED) Program provides people who have not completed high school with an opportunity to obtain a High School Equivalency Diploma. Applicants are required to take a battery of five tests. The tests and their time limits are:
- Language Arts, Writing: 120 minutes, 50 Questions and Essay
- Language Arts, Reading: 65 minutes, 40 Questions
- Social Studies: 70 minutes, 50 Questions
- Science: 80 minutes, 50 Questions
- Mathematics: 90 minutes, 50 Questions
Persons who are currently enrolled in high school or have a high school diploma are not eligible to take the GED test.

Intermediate Unit 1 provides free GED classes throughout Fayette, Washington, and Greene counties.
