What advice would you give to a teacher who hasn't begun using videoconferencing?
I would definitely recommend that they give videoconferencing a try. It is a wonderful teaching tool.

Get out of the dark ages!!! Videoconferences are awesome, engaging, and a life experience for your students. It truly is a virtual fieldtrip. The kids love them, learn well from them, and remember them!

They should make sure that the project is enjoyable for the students as well as themselves.

Talk with others, find videoconferences that fit your content and don't be afraid to try it. Once you try it out you will love it as you are only limited by your self on what you can do or where you can go with videoconferencing.

Do not stress, talk to other teachers who have done it before. Prepare yourself and students for what the videocnferencing lesson with be about. Talk to the technology coordinators, they will lead you through the way and be there on that day also.

Find a conference that fits your students. My first conference was nice but I have a group of very active five year olds and they basically stayed in their seats. The next conference I will be doing has the stduents moving around a bit more.
