Intermediate Unit 1 Annual Convention
On March 23, 2004, Intermediate Unit 1 held its annual convention to elect its board of Directors. As a result of the election, the following were elected to the board:
- Edward Andria, Albert Gallatin School District
- Nancy Herring, Uniontown Area School District
- Richard L. Krause, Carmichaels Area School District
- William A. Loar (not shown), Trinity Area School District
- Marie J. Ripepi, Ringgold Area School District
They will join with the current board members to comprise the 2004 - 05 IU1 Board of Directors.
- Francine Pavone, Brownsville Area School District
- William J. Vargo, Frazier School District
- David Goldblum, Connellsville Area School District
- Joanne L. Brookover, Central Greene School District
- Dr. William R. Adams, Jr., Washington School District
- Anthony Marra, Chartiers-Houston School District
- Thomas W. McMurray, Peters Township School District
- Edward Yorke, Jr., Canon-McMillan School District
As is the convention tradition, the evening included dinner, voting, and a presentation. This year's presenter was Ronald R. Cowell, President, The Education Policy and Leadership Center, who presented the report, "Strengthening the Work of School Boards in PA".
Entertainment was provided by the Canonsburg Middle School Symphonic Band, directed by Michael Caporizzo.
