9:00 AM to 12:00 NoonA great opportunity for reducing operating costs in schools is in the area of energy management and fall is the time to take steps to realize a savings during the winter heating season. Approaches can range from a district-operated program to engaging a contracted energy manager. This workshop will review benchmarking data and resources available to help get you started, review the full range of options in energy management programs, and discuss factors that should be considered when choosing the approach that will work best for your LEA. 9:00 AM to 12:00 NoonFollowing review by the US Department of Education, the Pennsylvania Department of Education will implement changes to reach the "highly qualified teacher" (HQT) provisions of federal law in the 2006-07 year and beyond. This PASBO webcast will present information on new PDE developments and provide compliance strategies for meeting state requirements. (Desktop registration will also be offered.)

9:00 AM to 12:00 NoonThe Pennsylvania governor's budget will be introduced on February 5, 2008 (tentative) and PASBO and PASA will be there to help you determine how the budget will impact your school. The program will decipher the 2008-09 budget numbers and bring you the latest from Capitol Hill. (Desktop registration will also be offered. Face-to-Face sessions will also be held in Mars, DuBois, Harrisburg and Allentown.)
