M indicates that a meal will be provided by IU1.
*Year 3 participants choose either the one day Differentiated Instruction workshop, the 1 credit course Differentiated Instruction Strategies for the Classroom, or Building Your ePortfolio.
Note: For current year three inductees, a mentor/inductee session was not part of the inductees' year 1 requirements. Therefore, inductees must select options that will allow them to reach at least 15 days by the end of their third year of induction. Inductees who select only the one day Differentiated Instruction session will still need to select an option that gives them at least an additional ½ day. Inductees who have taken free CPE classes (such as ePortfolio, Harry Wong, etc.) may count these to meet the extra ½ day needed.
Deviations from the schedule can only be approved by Dr. DeVoge.
Some workshops are more than one session in length. For these workshops, you must attend every session. If you miss the first session, you can not attend the remaining sessions, but must wait till the next time that workshop runs, to complete the workshop in entirety.
Option for 2009–2010
Ruby Payne will be part of an Educational Summit on April 24, 2010. Inductees in year 1, year, 2, and year 3 may use this session as an option for the year 3 requirement of differentiated instruction. It can also be counted as two mentor/inductee sessions for either year 1, 2, or 3. Since Introduction to Induction is required for year 1, first year inductees and their mentors can take the Ruby Payne session and can count it as one mentor/inductee session in 2009–2010 and one in 2010–2011. Registration fees will be reimbursed by IU1 upon presentation of completed attendance.

IU1 inductees may take any of the following courses offered by IU1 tuition free. Inductees pay cost of books and materials.

- Building Your ePortfolio
- Cultural Diversity I
- Differentiated Instruction Strategies for the Classroom
- The Principles and Best Practices of Harry Wong
- The Reflective Practitioner Part I and Part II
- Year 1 Days 3 and 4 School Law and Technology Integration
During the three years of induction an inductee may take three additional one credit CPE courses.
To have the tuition waved:
- Register.
- Choose “Personal Check” as the payment type.
- Email Keith Golebie and Marla Harris stating that you registered and would like the fee waved for Induction.
Inductees are responsible for cancellation fees for courses if they do not show for a course or send a cancellation request by email prior to the start of a course. Staff cancelling more than one course will lose the free tuition option.
