Adam Blank Takes Top Honors in Daughters of the American Revolution Contest

Adam Blank is one of ten Peters Township students who have been honored for their achievements in this year's Junior American Citizens Competition sponsored by the Bethel Fife and Drum Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Adam entered the competition in the Original Stamp Design category, and was one of six students ranked among the top competitors in the nation. The contest consisted of posters and banners, photographic essays, poems and short stories, original stamp designs, and community service projects, all relating to the 2009 theme of “America: Land of Opportunity.” Norma Hartman, the Daughters of the American Revolution's liaison to the middle school, was pleased to announce the results of the contest. This marks the third consecutive year in which the Bethel Fife and Drum Chapter has celebrated student achievements at the highest level of the contest.

Adam, a student of Jenny Barney TVI through IU1, received the following awards for his original stamp design: first place in the Bethel Fife and Drum Chapter Contest; first place in the Pennsylvania State Contest; first place in the Eastern Division Contest; and first place in the National Competition.

Congratulations, Adam, on a job well done.
