Callers receive verbal assistance and referrals to state agencies, disability groups or individuals. Literature on special education, early intervention, disabilities and child development is provided free of charge.

Healthy Baby Helpline: 1-800-986-BABY (2229)

The statewide Healthy Baby Helpline refers pregnant women to programs that offer free or low cost prenatal care services, based on income guidelines.

Healthy Kids Helpline: 1-800-986-KIDS (5437)

The statewide Healthy Kids Helpline refers callers to programs that offer free or low cost health care services, based on income guidelines.

Lead Information Line: 1-800-440-LEAD (5323)

The Lead Information Line provides verbal assistance and written information to parents, physicians, contractors and homeowners about lead poisoning and its prevention and control.

StateWide Adoption Network: 1-800-585-SWAN (7926)

The StateWide Adoption Network's helpline serves as an information resource for callers who want to learn how to adopt children with special needs. Callers are provided with an overview of the process to adopt Pennsylvania's waiting children, what it means to adopt through the StateWide Adoption Network, and how to access local agencies that can provide network adoptions.

The Special Kids Network has six regional offices to link callers to a broad range of services for children with special health care needs. Examples of services include health care products, training, recreation and leisure, social services,counseling, support and advocacy, and therapy.

Parent to Parent of Pennsylvania: 1-800-986-4550

Parent to Parent of Pennsylvania is a network created by families, for families of children and adults with special needs. This helpline connects families in similar situations so they may share experiences and offer practical information and support.
