Summer School at the IU1 Educational Campus at Colonial
Rules and Regulations
- Attendance is required.
- Three or more absences, regardless of the reason, will result in failing the class with no credit or refund. Students enrolled in Physical Education cannot be absent more than one day. One piece swim wear is recommended for students. Students taking Academic classes can only miss two days.
- Every two tardies or late arrivals (15 minutes to one-half of class period) will count as one-half day absence, regardless of the reason.
- Sleeping in class constitutes an absence.
- All Students must be on time for class.
- Any misconduct that results in a student being sent home will count as an absence.
- Cell phones, pagers, CD players, headsets, etc. are not permitted in the building.
- Smoking, rubbing, chewing, or possession of tobacco products is not permitted on school grounds.
- Abusive language, profanity or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
- Hats are not to be worn inside the building.
- Appropriate dress is required.
- Tank tops, halter-tops, or bare midriffs are not permitted.
- Shirts alluding to drugs, alcohol, or other inappropriate topics are not permitted.
- Shorts should be of reasonable length.
- Lunch must be consumed inside the building. Please dispose of empty containers in appropriate receptacles.
- Students providing their own lunches must bring the lunch with them when entering the building. Refrigeration of the lunch will be provided.
- Students are to remain inside during class sessions.
- Students are not permitted in their vehicles during instructional time, lunch or breaks.
- Loitering outside during breaks or lunchtime is not permitted.
- Students must obey all traffic regulations while entering, parking, and leaving the school grounds. A student violating traffic laws, i.e., speeding, revving motors, peeling out, will lose their driving privileges to the Colonial Campus.
- Students taking two classes are not permitted to leave the school grounds in between classes. Students leaving the school grounds will be considered absent for the second session.
Schedule and Registration Information
The following dates are for high school summer school.
- June 15th and 16th Sign-up at Colonial for content area subjects. 7:30–2:00
- Sign-up at Laurel Highlands for physical education. 7:30–11:00 (after at Colonial)
- Summer school will begin on June 17th until July 14th (20 days).
- Content classes in English (9, 10, 11, 12), Science (Biology, Earth Science, Chemistry), Math (Algebra I, II, Geometry), and Social Studies (Civics, World History, American History)
